Logan’s 4th Birthday Party

We had Logan’s birthday party this year at the ACRP Play Center, the same place we had Payton’s second party. We invited a bunch of kids from the daycare/preschool. It was cool because there was a decent amount of kids who came, and they all got along. The kids were all playing together, running around, having a great time. Crazy.

There was one hiccup with the day. We were supposed to have the place from 10-2. We had the party starting at 11, so we had an hour to set up. We arrived a few minutes before ten and the doors were locked. After 10 minutes, Lindsey started to panic, she reached out to the place via Facebook Messenger, which is how she contacted them during the entire process. I went on the website and found a phone number. Called it and there was just an answering machine. Ughhhh.

At 10:30, no one was there, and we were now getting to the point of having to cancel the party. Lindsey reached out to another mom, who also had a party there, and she had the owner’s phone number. I called him, and he was pissed to find out the person was not there. He told us to head to someone’s house, they had a spare set of keys. We got the keys, unlocked the doors, and then got the lights on.

The owner was nice, he ended up knocking off a significant amount off of our fee. The funny part was when I took the updated check to the girl (she was sitting in the office, she finally showed up around noon), who was just sitting in there watching Netflix. I said “here is the check, your boss lowered the amount since you were so late.” Yeah, I know, it was a dick comment. She replies “oh, it’s okay.” I just laughed.

Despite starting off crazily, the party was perfect and Logan had a great time.
