Fact Two: The first president to have impeachment proceedings brought against him in the House. The resolution ultimately failed, but it was a black mark against this president.
Fact Three: Met his second wife during the testing of a new gun on a naval ship. The gun malfunctioned and killed the woman’s father, which is definitely not the best way to meet women, but it worked for him. He was the first president married while in office.
Fact Four: Extended the Monroe Doctrine to include Hawaii.
Fact Five: Negotiated the first treaty between the United States and China.
