2021 Fantasy Baseball Week 16

“Can somebody on your team STOP HITTING!”–That was the text message I received from Ryan on Wednesday. As you can see, my team did not stop hitting. It is funny that Ryan streamed pitching and we both managed five wins. It was actually closer going into the weekend because he was leading ERA/WHIP, but I had some good starts from my pitchers.

Fantasy Stud
Austin Riley hit five home runs, which was one less than Ryan’s entire team. He had 13 RBIs and 7 runs scored. His .379 AVG and .455 OBP ensured that Ryan had no chance of catching me in those hitting categories. My team’s hitting was that good despite Jose Abreu and his .053 AVG. I would like to give a nod to Julio Urias and his two starts this past week (1 W, 12 Ks, 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP). Also, Gerrit Cole…11.81 ERA/1.50 WHIP, but TEN STRIKEOUTS! What a weird stat-line.

The League
Pat 11 Matt 0–Almost The Donut!
James 7 Dustin 4–Four saves from Aroldis Chapman, damn…
Adam2 8 Gideon 1–Adam ended Gideon’s playoff hopes with a big win.
Sean 7 Jason 5–Jason went from 1st to 6th in a few weeks.

Next Up
I take on Gideon this week. The playoffs are set, all that can change is the seeding. As of now, I have the first seed and James has the second seed. He takes on Adam. The rest of the playoff teams have weak matchups so they could end up moving up if they can win big.

One year for Halloween, Ryan dressed up like Brandon Lee from The Crow. I love that movie and even more importantly, I loved the soundtrack as a teenager when it came out. Every song is great. You have The Cure, RATM, NIN, STP, Rollings Band, Violent Femmes, Pantera…damn, so many great songs. If you have never listened to the soundtrack and enjoyed 90s Industrial/Grunge/Metal, then you should definitely have a listen.
