This trailer explains why they did not step in when Thanos did his thing. Turns out they have a very specific mission and they can only intervene when the Deviants are involved…and guess what? It looks like they are back. I only ever read one Eternals comic (I think it was the Neil Gaiman miniseries), so it is exciting to go into a movie basically clueless.
