I did not listen to many new podcasts this year. The ones I do listen to were all very good. I love Pod Save America each week, and have definitely enjoyed the new miniseries called Offline. Reply All was decent this year, despite some of the drama that happened with their hosts. Sword & Scale is always good. 538 Politics Podcast has been hit or miss and I have definitely skipped a few episodes here and there.
The best though was Gangster Capitalism Season 3. It focused on Jerry Falwell Jr. and Liberty University. The season definitely gave me more reasons to root for Liberty to lose each week. I highly recommend the season if you want to hear about the shady things that go on with that family and school. I will warn you that some of the episodes that deal with rape and the subsequent reactions from Liberty can be infuriating.
A close second was a special episode of Death in the West called The Great French Copper Scheme. It was about the financial scheme of a Frenchman to manipulate the copper market, which was connected in a major way to Butte, Montana. I know, it sounds kind of boring, but the episode was fascinating and I highly recommend it.
