Kenobi–Chapter 6

The finale lived up to the hype. I have no clue if there will be a second season or not (I think they said they were going to have another season), but this short season was practically perfect. Basically making it into a long movie, instead of an episodic adventure was a smart move.

The Good…
-The fight between Vader and Obi-Wan was fantastic. There were so many small details that I loved, but the best was probably Vader throwing Kenobi into the hole and burying him. I had a feeling that Obi-Wan was using the Force to hold the dirt up.
-The next best part of the fight was when Vader’s mask is destroyed and he is talking as Anakin and Vader. What I loved most from that part was how Vader says that he killed Anakin. They incorporated Obi-Wan’s story to Luke about Vader murdering his father. It was also the thing Obi-Wan needed to hear to help him stop blaming himself.
-Reva’s moment. It seemed like we might get Uncle Owen killing her and telling Kenobi to piss off. But instead, her story comes full circle and she decides to not be like Anakin. She does not kill the kid. I wonder what that means for her?
-Obi-Wan calling him Darth! Thank you for hitting all of us nerds who have focused on that for like 30 years a little nod and wink. (I am sure I have written about that multiple times)
-The return of Lola to Leia and the goodbye to her from Obi-Wan hit me pretty hard. I mean, when Luke tells Leia they have Ben Kenobi with them, she gets excited. Now that scene means even more. Excellent job!

The Bad…
-Okay, so yeah Obi-Wan is not ultimately responsible for Anakin turning to Darth Vader…but Vader hunting down and killing the rest of the Jedi? Well that is on Obi-Wan a little bit. I mean, dude! Just stick around five more minutes and make sure Anakin falls into the lava. Or show some mercy and finish him off. BUT NOOOOOO, Obi-Wan has to leave and the Emperor shows up to save crispy Anakin.
-We all knew there would be a Qui-Gon Jin Force Ghost scene. But, I thought for sure when Obi-Wan is being buried and he is hearing the voices of his nightmares that there would be a moment of clarity (there was, they went silent) and he would hear Master Qui-Gon telling him to trust in the Force or something.

Theories…
-If there is a season two, something tells me it would be Obi-Wan leaving the planet again. Maybe to help Reva find some other missing Jedi? Maybe Quinlan Vos? Ahsoka? I do not think he would be as hesitant to leave this time since he realizes that Luke is in good hands with Owen & Beru.
-So why doesn’t Obi-Wan join the Rebellion? Are they formed yet or are they just pockets of resistance? I feel like it was Ahsoka that helps bring them together (and even then, there are multiple factions…even by Rogue One they are no completely unified). Here is my weird theory. Since the Senate is still intact, people like Bail Organa and even Obi-Wan Kenobi believe that the Emperor is just a temporary issue. They just need to wait him out and then pass laws to make sure something like this never happens again. But the Senate is constantly getting weaker/more corrupt. By the time of ANH, the Emperor just dissolves the Senate and it barely registers as a blip.
