Today was a sad day. I knew it was most likely inevitable, but it still sucked to see the news that Elizabeth Warren was dropping out of the race. She was candidate I was supporting. I line up with her on almost all of the issues and she was the smartest, most prepared candidate in the race. It sucks that those are not qualities people look at for a president.
I have no clue what her next move will be. Many people think she will endorse Bernie Sanders, but I am not so sure. I think she would be better off heading to Biden’s side. If Bernie wins the nomination, then a progressive agenda will be basically ensured. However, if Warren agrees to endorse Biden (perhaps for the VP spot?), then she can help push Biden’s policies further to the left.
I have over a month before I get to vote and who knows what will happen by then. I honestly do not know which candidate I will vote for at this point. I voted for Bernie in 2016 and I still like him. I also have nothing against Joe Biden. No matter who wins, they will have my full support in the general election.
