A Weekend…of Stuff

We have been on vacation this week. I mentioned in the previous post that we had to clean the house after the guys fixed the walls in the basement. Seriously, the entire house had dust. We cleaned dust from parts of the house that you would think would have been immune to dust. I hate cleaning dust.

We finished everything up and then it was time to get the outside cleaned up. Yeah, this vacation has been totally fun. I cut the grass on Saturday and we got all the stuff out and cleaned up. Then I put the trampoline back together. For some reason, Lindsey told Payton that we could maybe do something later. They tossed around a bunch of stuff like going for a walk, having a fire, playground, and who knows what else those two discussed.

They decided on Staple Bend Tunnel. Obviously we planned it out well. It was already 4:00 and we made our way to the tunnel. We walked all the way down and guess what happens? Logan says “I have to poop!” Ughhhh. So we walked into the woods and I told him squat down and poop. I should have taken his pants completely off because when he peed, it went all over his shorts. Also, it was like the biggest turd ever. We did not bring a change of clothes. Seriously, when we go to soccer, Lindsey packs a bag with like eight changes of clothes. But for a walk that would take two hours into the woods? Nope, we brought nothing. So the poor guy had to wear his pee shorts for the rest of the trip home (don’t worry, they were not soaked or anything, it was just a little pee, so no one needs to freak out and call CYS).

We got home and had to make dinner still. I think it was the latest we ever fed the kids dinner, like close to 8:00. Yeah, we are not winning an Parent of the Year Awards here. I was tired and sore. It was a 20,000 step kind of day. And so what did we do on Sunday???

WE WENT TO THE PITTSBURGH ZOO!

Of course we did. Granted, it was a great time. The kids always love going. But damn, I was already sore and we decided to walk around some more, this time with a heavy ass bag full of stuff and a stroller. Sometimes Logan was in the stroller, sometimes he was not. Oh and when the zoo was done, we stopped in Monroeville to do a little shopping. Seriously, it was the best! I love walking around Old Navy and Carters.

We got home and I made some burgers on the grill and then we gave the kids a bath and put them to bed. Lindsey and I work in the morning and I am seriously super exhausted. I think I might just go to bed.
