Logan is Two Now!

Today is Logan’s second birthday. His party is this weekend (hopefully nothing major happens this year like the beginning of a pandemic), but it was still fun to celebrate a little bit today. We woke him up this morning by tossing a bunch of Baby Shark balloons in his crib. He totally went nuts for them.

Then things went downhill from there. He went to daycare, but on his way inside, he tripped and smashed his face on the ground. Later in the day, he was running for a snack and fell again. He bashed his face against a highchair and they had to call us to let him know. Now he has a bruise across his face. Great way to spend his birthday. Fortunately, once he was home we went back to fun stuff. We played with the balloons and enjoyed some pizza & cupcakes.

In two years it has been so much fun seeing Logan change. It is hard not to compare him to Payton at that age, but it is cool how different they were. For one thing, Logan is small. Like he is still so short. Payton has always been tall. Payton was talking way more than Logan does at this age. Logan is definitely more physical. He is always falling, climbing, and just generally finding a way to get hurt.

But you know what? The coolest thing is how he has become this funny little kid, who loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse (I really think he loves Minnie if ya catch my drift). He is obsessed with Baby Shark and will listen to it for hours if he is not stopped. He does incredibly sweet things and will randomly give you a hug. And sometimes he has some epic tantrums that almost make me forget all of those great things. Almost I said.

Happy birthday, Logan Alexander! We love you.
