2019 Fantasy Baseball Playoffs Round One

Did you think because I had a bye and was in the consolation bracket that I would not write about fantasy baseball this week? Look, I have a loyal following of like three people who read my fantasy sports posts, I cannot disappoint them.

First up we have Sean vs. Gideon. Looks like Sean had one of the better weeks for pitching that a team can probably have: 7 wins, 61 strikeouts, 1.37 ERA, and a 0.84 WHIP! He was led by Zach Greinke, who picked up two wins and twelve strikeouts.

Adam2 survived and made it into the playoffs, then upset Dustin. He did it with great pitching as well, but also by edging his opponent in average. Looks like having three guys from Cubs paid off (they absolutely murdered the Pirates over the weekend).

Down in the consolation bracket, Pat destroyed Matt. It was actually pretty close in each category and the Pat had some fantastic pitching as well. Actually, it looks like Pat would have been competitive with just about everyone last week.

The funny thing is that the other matchup was tied, but if you look at all the categories that each team won, it was dominant by that person. Weird how that works in fantasy. I guess through tie-breakers, Jason picked up the win over Offord.

Fantasy Player of the Week
Like I said, Adam2 lucked out with Cubs players. Jason Heyward scored ten runs, two home runs, eight RBIs, a .429 AVG, and a .538 OBP. He was the best player for someone who actually played this week. I actually had the best player (Kris Bryant, like I said, the Cubs destroyed the Pirates this week).

The New Week
We have Ryan vs. Sean and James against Adam2. I think Ryan should be happy that we just have a straight bracket and not reseeding. I think Adam2’s team looks pretty tough right now and I would want to avoid him.

I take on Pat, Lindsey faces Jason. Gideon and Dustin battle for 5th place. Offord and Matt will shoot for 11th.
