Payton’s Room: The Beginning

I mentioned before that we are going to redo Payton’s room. It has been slow going, we moved Payton over to Logan’s room, and they started going through her stuff. But, Christmas came, and then it was Payton’s birthday party. But now that we are through those things, Payton and Lindsey buckled down, and they have everything out of the room.

The first step is cutting out the closet. Her closet is huge, but the doorway is a standard door, so you cannot get to the back half. We are looking at bi-fold doors, or perhaps a folding barn door that Lindsey and I like. This is the part I am most nervous about because this is actually building something. I have to cut stuff, hammer things, frame stuff. It could go horribly wrong (or I could just end up calling someone once I screw it up to help me fix it).

Once that part is done, I am going to install a closet system. Payton looked at a few things at Lowes, and she leans toward the expensive stuff just like Lindsey. Yayyyy!!! 

This is a major project. Aside from the closet, the rest of the project will include:

-Sanding the walls smooth, then painting
-Heater covers
-Windows
-Remove fan, and look at lighting (maybe recessed lighting, not sure)
-Carpeting
-Trim
-New door
-Bedroom suit

So yeah, lots of work. Something tells me this project will probably take up lots of my time, so who knows how much I post this year while I work on it.
