Crazy Judge Idea

Aaron Judge is getting ready to start his rehab assignment. It also looks like Giancarlo Stanton will be returning soon. The Yankees already sent Clint Frazier back down to the minors. The Yankees actually have an insane amount of talent in their outfield. Okay, they have talent everywhere.

Here is a crazy thought. What if they traded Aaron Judge? I know, it will never happen, but let us pretend like it is an actual possibility. First of all, they could get an insane prospect haul (which they could either develop OR use to trade for players they actually need). Secondly, the Yankees have enough power that losing Judge would not kill them.

So who should they trade with? I think a good partner would be the Braves. They have fantastic minor league depth (the Yankees could probably ask for Cristian Pache, Kyle Wright, Ian Anderson, and even Bryse Wilson (or Drew Waters). That would be four Top 100 prospects, with two pitchers in the top thirty.

Or they could do a three-way trade. They could partner with the Nationals and the Brewers. The Yankees could get Max Scherzer and Carter Kieboom from them. The Brewers get Stephen Strasburg and send the Yankees Keston Hiura and maybe another lower level pitching prospect. The Nationals clear out a ton of salary space and could spend the off-season signing a few pitchers and they have a ridiculous outfield of Judge, Soto, and Robles. They could probably move Adam Eaton in the off-season.

I know this sounds insane, but sometimes insane can be the right move. I can tell you for a fact that the Pirates would not be a team involved in these negotiations.
