Best of 2025: Favorite Movie

I had to change up my criteria for what counts as a movie from this year. When I wrote my post last year, there were movies released in late November and early December that I did not see until January, so I figured I would count those movies towards this year. I know, there are always caveats to all of my lists, haha.
So first up we have our favorite kid movies.
6. Snow White–The kids like this one, I thought it was pretty crappy.
5. Lilo & Stitch–The live-action remake was pretty great. I enjoyed the changes, but I should mention that I liked the original, but I was a little older when it came out, so it was not one of the Disney movies I watched a ton.
4. Elio–I think the kids liked it, but did not love it. I thought it was a solid movie.
3. Zootopia 2–I know some people are talking about this movie like it was better than the first…it was not. I mean, it was good. We loved it, but it was not our favorite from this year.
2. A Minecraft Movie–Up until a few days ago, I would have said this was my favorite movie I saw with the kids. It was funny, and had a surprisingly good story.
1. KPop Demon Hunters–We do not have Netflix, but Payton was able to watch the movie a few times with friends, and I have heard the songs a million times. The other day, I decided to sign up for Netflix so I could watch Stranger Things, and I decided to watch this one with the kids. It was a solid movie. I liked the story, and felt like it was a little deeper than what most people probably think.
Okay, now onto the big people movies!

My two favorite movies this year are also two of the best: One Battle After Another and Sinners. Kind of interesting, I watched Sinners and KPop Demon Hunters on back-to-back nights, and it is interesting how music plays a large part in the battle of good and evil. Kinda cool. Anyways, OBAA was incredible. It was arguably Paul Thomas Anderson’s best work. The entire cast was amazing. Read some actual reviews, those will definitely do it more justice that what I can say.
Okay, so here is some bonus content…worst movie of the year. This one did not come out in 2025, but in 2023. Lindsey wanted to watch a movie one night (very rare occurrance), she kept seeing Reels for a movie called Foe with her boy, Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan. So we found it on one of the 1200 streaming services (or maybe we rented it) and gave it a watch. It was…not very good. It had potential and great actors, but the story was meh.
