2018 Fantasy Baseball Week 6

I was winning going into Sunday. I thought I had a pretty easy victory. Then a few things flipped on me. To be fair, Dustin’s team had a great weekend, which helped give him the victory. This one really sucks though, because my team was not all that bad, well minus the relief pitching. My hitting was pretty good. I did miss an Aaron Nola start on Sunday and he did have a win, but as you can see, it would not have made a difference.

KOW–George Springer–KOW

Springer missed games Saturday & Sunday after being hit by a pitch Friday night. He still managed to be my best hitter with this line: 5/1/5/0/.643/.706. It is usually Altuve that puts up ridiculous numbers for me. Granted, the bulk of Springer’s numbers came from one game. Last Monday he was 6/6 with four runs scored, a HR, and three RBIs. That definitely helps start the week off the right way.

Around the League

Pat 5 Matt 4
Lindsey 6 Adam2 6
Sean 7 Offord 5
Gideon 6 James 6
Jason 8 Ryan 4

This would have been a good week for a win. I could have made up some ground on the leaders.

Best Move of the Week

Lindsey was on fire this week. First she and Ryan pulled off a pretty big trade: she got Aaron Judge & Matt Carpenter for Nolan Arenado & Chris Archer. Granted, I feel like Ryan got the better of this deal, since Lindsey ended up dropping Carpenter. However, in the short term…Judge was awesome for her. He picked up 8 RBIs, compared to Arenado’s 1 the rest of the week. She needed all 8 to pass Adam2 in that category. She also picked up Domingo Santana and dropped Jason Kipnis. Santana started the season off cold, but he has been heating up as of late.

On the flip side of the trade, Ryan did not get much out of Arenado or Archer this week. However, they do seem to make his team better. I feel like Chris Archer is one of those pitchers who rattles off a bunch of really good starts in a row after seeming to be bad for a bit. I could be wrong though, but that is always my perception.

The New Week

This week I take on Pat, who is currently in sixth place and has a winning record. I am still in 9th, with my shitty 29-39-4 record. What the hell is going on this year? Gideon and Lindsey hold the top two spots, followed by Jason and Adam2. Lindsey takes on Sean, who is in fifth place and just celebrated a birthday. Gideon and Jason square off in what should be a pretty exciting clash. Offord tries to stay above .500 this week with a matchup against Dustin (they are in 7th & 8th respectively). Adam2 has a chance to perhaps move into 2nd place, if he can destroy Ryan, who is still in last place. Finally we have James & Matt, battling for that 10th/11th spot. Fun fact: James has the most moves this year so far…62. Dude, did you just change out your entire team, twice?
