Decades Project: 1960s Movie–Hud

I knew I wanted a Paul Newman film from the 1960s. Cool Hand Luke and The Hustler were two of his favorite movies. But, when I was at Gannon, my friend Chuck had me watch Hud one night. I loved it, and honestly, I think it could be Newman’s best movie. The scene after the bar fight, where Hud and Lonnie bond, then Homer and Hud argue…Paul Newman is just perfect.

Quick sidenote…

Why were movie posters so cool back then? Granted, Paul Newman is always cool. It would be impossible to make a poster with him in it and not be cool. But damn, this is a great poster. I want to frame this and hang it in the house somewhere. Seriously, look up 1960s movie posters, this one is not even mentioned in any of the best lists. Modern movie poster artists need to look at some from this era and take some notes.
