Payton’s 8th Party

Yesterday we had Payton’s birthday party at the Windber Community Building. She wanted to do a bungee party, which meant a smaller party, which is always a positive in my opinion. She also wanted her theme to be Taylor Swift. Lindsey kept the decorations to a minimum, or at least to a minimum for her. The party was fun, and I think all the kids enjoyed the bungee time. After the party was over, we came home, and Payton had a sleepover with her friends.

Seven girls staying at the house…yeah, it was everything you would imagine. Lots of screaming, some drama, plenty of snacks, loud music, and eventually I think they went to sleep. They were going to sleep in the basement, but around midnight they all came upstairs because they could not sleep down there. I brought the air mattress up to the living room, and I then went to bed. I laid there for a while listening to them giggle and talk. Then it hit me…Samson was not in our room. I went out and asked the girls if he was with them, but they all pretended to be asleep. Then I heard him bark. He was still in the basement. He got all the food the girls had down there. Popcorn, pizza, cinnamon-sugar pretzel bites from Auntie Anne’s…yeah, just a little buffet for him.

We got up this morning and Lindsey made a giant sheet of pancakes. It was more like a pan cake. I think she poured way too much batter onto the sheet because this thing was like 1.5″ thick. It was good, but like one piece was enough to fill everyone up.

I know the big question you are all asking: did you wear the shirt? Absolutely!

Also, I want to mention this poster I made for Payton. Lindsey found a cool template on Etsy that allows you to make an Eras Tour poster. I went through and picked the photos and did the necessary adjustments. When I picked it up from Staples, I was impressed with how good it looks. I decided to get a frame, and if we ever finish Payton’s room, she can hang it in there.
