The Last of Us–Episode 103

Damn, this show keeps surprising me and evoking a strong emotional response. We learned about Bill and Frank, which ended up being incredibly tender and sad. We also can see Joel connecting with Ellie.

-A love story about two guys finding each other in the middle of the apocalypse. Incredible how good Nick Offerman is in this episode.

-The scene where Joel and Ellie stop at the shop was tense. I thought for sure we would get the typical jump scares and some zombies attacking them. Instead, we get a trapped zombie, and Ellie stabs it.

-Joel and Tess meeting Bill and Frank was fun. I am guessing Bill got the aluminum from Joel, which is what helped him reinforce the fencing when the raiders attacked. I enjoy the respect Bill has for Joel (especially in the letter), even though he does not like him.

-I am curious about the gun thing. Joel says that there is practically no ammo left, so guns are pretty useless. Is that something from the game? Like you have to use a knife and a small caliber pistol to beat the game? It seems crazy to think that Bill would not have had tons of ammunition in his bunker to go with all those guns. Granted, it would not be easy to carry that much, so maybe that is the issue as well. It just seems foolish to not bring a few with them.

-The government executing people early on because the Quarantine Zones were too full feels right, and wrong. Like, I could totally see a government going to that extreme, but our government acting that quickly? Hahahaha, just feels way off. Unless things fell apart so fast that the military took over, then I could see it happening, but a committee meeting to discuss this stuff? Definitely not, it would take Congress months to make a decision.
