Whenever I take the kids to the doctor, I get annoyed when I see this sign. Not because I have any problem stopping on the way out. What annoys me is that every time, whoever is working will be like “can I help you?” I say whichever kid’s name, and they always respond “did you need something? If not, you can just go.”
It would not bother me, except that every single time it happens, the person at the desk has an annoyed attitude. Almost like she cannot believe that I would stop and bother her.
We were there the other day for Payton’s appointment, and we get to the window. The lady working is frantic and she says “I will be with you in a few minutes!” We stood there for a couple of minutes before she finishes stapling papers. She asks if we need something. I said, no, just checking out. She stares at me. I point at the sign. She goes, “well did you need something.” Now I am annoyed, so I said yes. I would like to schedule Payton’s next year appointment.
She is definitely annoyed, and gives me a time for next year. I hesitate, and she laughs “maybe you should let your wife make the appointment.” Ughh, now I really dislike her. I calmly asked if she had anything available for after school. She fills out the card, and is definitely trying to get back to her collating, but I decided to be super petty. “Oh, can my kids have a sticker please?”
