Time for my annual March Madness pool! This is for all of those people who do not want to spend money on a pool because they know they will lose. Here is your chance to enter and defeat me. Last year I finished 6th…out of seven teams. Maybe I can do better this year.
Penn State will not be in the tournament (although, they have played pretty well since the beginning of February…5-2 with wins over Michigan & Maryland). I would not count them out of the Big Ten tournament, I mean, it’s a long shot, but they are playing well at the moment, so maybe they get hot now and win…okay, I will stop with this pipe-dream.
They have some good players and I think they lost a bunch of close games or blew some leads. That tells me they have talent, but that coaching is a problem. Maybe Chambers is a decent enough recruiter, but he just cannot coach them in those big moments.
Also, it looks like St. Francis will not be making the tournament. They lost to Fairleigh Dickinson tonight in the NEC Championship. It would have been the first trip to the tournament for the Red Flash since 1991. I wish I would have known the game was being played up here, I would have bought tickets. I guess I will have to pay attention in the future.
