Tee Ball

Payton is playing tee ball this year. The league put out a request for coaches. The plan was to have Payton and her cousin on the same team. Adam2 said he marked on the form to be an assistant coach, so I figured if I put down head coach, we would be together. It did not work out that way, Adam2 and I ended up being head coaches on different teams.

I have no clue how to coach tee ball. Getting them to run to first base is a chore. Fortunately, I have a three other dads who offered to help, so I am not alone, and that is good. The kids are funny. My team is all girls and I am pretty sure they are all in their first year (maybe two are in their second). It has definitely been a challenge.

Payton has fun with it, but she has some troubles with the hitting. And throwing. And fielding. She at least runs fast around the bases. She is like Billy Hamilton. Okay, maybe not that fast. It is crazy trying to get kids started playing baseball/softball this early. I mean, kids do not even develop the hand-eye coordination to catch a ball until they are like six (yeah, I looked into it). But, she is out having fun and making friends, so that is all that matters. Plus, I bring cookies for the girls after practice and games.
