I was the best last week with eight correct. A few people tied me, but they do not really matter since I won the tiebreaker. I would have had nine, but at 4:05 I changed my Steelers pick to the Patriots. I just had this weird feeling they would lose. I am glad I was wrong.
Underdog Special: Pittsburgh Steelers (+5.5)
I was way wrong about the Cowboys and Colts game last week. This week I am going with the Steelers. I do not know if they will win, but I cannot imagine it being a game that does not come down to a last second field goal.
Underdog Record: 4-10
The standings now go: Mom (110), Sean (107), Josh (103), Gideon (102), Ryan (101), Jon (100), Adam (99), Jason (97), Offord (75), Lindsey (48), and Rob (13).
I wish I could say that Gideon gave BatmanJason much of a match, but you can see from the score that it was never even close. BatmanJason basically beat him with his three running backs. Gideon never had chance.
The other semifinal bout was a little more exciting. Adam dropped Baker Mayfield during the week and when Jessica heard that Wentz may be out, she snatched the Cleveland QB up. I cannot imagine a more shitty way to lose than by your own backup.
Things did get a little tense for my brother since Jessica had two Rams playing on Sunday night. Fortunately for him, the Eagles defense was good enough to just barely contain Gurley.
This week I want to feature Chris Carson. He could be a huge factor in the championship match. As I said last week, he was the reason BatmanJason defeated Ryan. He followed that up with 26.80 points. If he puts up those kind of points again, BatmanJason could avenge that loss to Adam a few weeks ago.
Down in the consolation bracket, Jarrod defeated Jason while Ryan beat Rob. Ryan will face off against Jarrod for fifth place, while Jason and Rob battle for seventh. Jessica will try for third place again against Gideon.
Adam defeated BatmanJason back in Week 13 in a fairly close battle (204.90 to 197.40). I have a feeling this will also be a very close one. Adam has the edge in the QB & WR department, while BatmanJason has RBs. They are pretty even with TEs (a great battle of Ertz vs. Kelce). I think BatmanJason has the edge on defense (he has the Rams against the Cardinals, whereas Adam has Houston versus Philadelphia).
If I was betting, I may take BatmanJason. His players have some favorable matchups, whereas Adam’s guys could be in for some rough games. Also, it is December football. I would probably take running backs over the passing game this time of year.
However, there is hope for my brother. I think the Steelers can shut down Kamara and I think Mike Williams could have a big game against the Ravens, since their defense will key on Keenan Allen.
So honestly, who knows how this will go. Like I actually know what the hell I am talking about. Good luck to everyone.
