I watched a bunch of great shows this year. I stopped watching the CW Arrowverse shows a few years ago, but I ended up really digging Superman & Lois. I rather enjoyed The Nevers and definitely enjoyed Mare of Easttown. There was also Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which was fantastic.
Then there are the current shows that I am watching: Succession, Insecure, Wheel of Time, and the always great Last Week Tonight. Even though it did not come out this year, I gave the new Star Trek shows a chance and really enjoyed them. I started with Picard and have been working on the first three seasons of Discovery.
The best shows though were on Disney+. Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…, and even the first episodes of Hawkeye are great. But of all them, my favorite show this year was WandaVision. It had just about everything. Cool concept, crazy twists, funny moments, sad parts, and fantastic fight scenes. I loved it! If that show had been terrible, I probably would have been less enthused about the other shows. Granted, I would have watched them, but being excited each week and wanting to catch them the day they came out would have been less important.

Okay, I wrote this post a week or so ago. Then I watched the final two episodes of Succession. Yeah, sorry WandaVision, but I have a new favorite show this year. This season of Succession has been funny, but also extremely tense. There have been some amazing moments (SPOILERS): Kendall’s breakdown at his birthday party, Kendall on the pool float, and then the finale was just like one long fantastic moment. It all culminates with the kids trying to oust their father, but he is one step ahead of them…why? Tom betrayed his own wife (for good reason, she is awful) and warned Logan what was about to happen. Fucking great! And I totally called it to Lindsey. So yay for me.
