The Boys Season 2

Season two of The Boys was every bit as good as season one. It was just as depraved, funny, and at times moving. Probably some spoilers from here on out…

I loved the Homelander/Stormfront story line. The reveal that she was actually a hundred year old Nazi was fantastic. There was also some fantastic commentary in there about the alt-right and the use of the internet to shift the conversation (the meme creator scene was great, but also a good reminder of what is actually happening during our own politics at the moment).

I also liked how it ended with the Maeve and Starlight staying in the Seven and Homelander pretending they are all still a big happy family. Butcher has a change of heart about Ryan and helps see him secure. I cannot wait to see what Butcher does in season three (in the comic he and the Boys use Compound-V to give themselves superpowers to fight the Seven, but that happened right from the beginning of the comic, so it will be interesting to see if that is an option…or if they always find a different way to make the fight even).

The giant penis had to be the funniest part, right? Especially Frenchie yelling “tell him you had a dick around your neck.” My other favorite funny part is at the end, when Hughie is telling Annie that he needs to stop being clingy and learn to stand on his own. She has this devastated look because she wants to move forward with their relationship. He looks at her and is like “oohhh, no, I meant with the boys, I am stilling going to totally cling to you.”

Question: Stan Edgar has powers, right? He just never seemed to be afraid of Homelander (maybe because he thought Black Noir would protect him?). Which direction will the next season go? I mean, will the boys be hunting superheroes down? Next question…can anything stop Homelander? Or is he just too damn powerful? Will Ryan be the secret weapon against him?

What was your favorite moment from this season?
