2021 Fantasy Baseball Week 3

This ended up much closer than I expected. Most of the week I was up 9-3, but over the weekend things became tighter, I believe it was 6-5 at one point. My pitching is not so great when I do not get two starts from Cole, Snell, and Glasnow. I should probably make some adjustments. I mean, I like Ohtani, but four innings per week is not really going to cut it. Fortunately my hitting bailed me out despite poor performances from Machado, Perez, Bohm, and McCutchen. Bryce Harper and Jose Abreu carried my team with six home runs, which was enough to tie Adam2, the rest of my team just helped put me over the top.

Fantasy Stud
As I said, Adam2 had great pitching this week and it was clearly evident when Brandon Woodruff picked up two wins and fifteen strikeouts. He put up a 0.75 ERA and a ridiculous 0.67 WHIP. That definitely helped bring the team WHIP under 1.00.

The League
Pat 8 Matt 3–Pat’s pitching continues to be fantastic. Jack Flaherty & Jesus Luzardo with very strong weeks
James 7 Sean 5–If James could find some hitting, his team might be decent. Jeff McNeil still hitting below the Mendoza Line?
Dustin 6 Ryan 5–An incredible week from Tatis Jr. was not enough to give Ryan the win
Jason 6 Gideon 6–Andres Giminez’s OBP and AVG this week? .091. Yeah, he is totally worth a start

Next Up
I am in sole possession of first place. I am a game ahead of Jason and 3.5 up on Adam2. This week I face Pat, who is in fifth place.

Naturally Adam2 and I listen to tons of Disney songs because of our kids. He and I have definitely discussed how this is a great song (it feels like an 80s love ballad, like I could totally see REO Speedwagon playing this at the Clearfield County Fair). Oh, and the fact that Weezer did a version makes it even cooler…
