It is official that Dan Snyder is finally going to change the name of the team. This is long past due and amazing that it only took threats from FedEx, Nike, and other sponsors (and some partial owners) for him to get rid of the offensive nickname.
I saw that the team has begun the search for a new name and I am sure they will have a committee out there testing tons of different names with focus groups. Can I just say that the best thing I have seen comes from DC Sports Experience. The Washington Redwolves. You get to keep the R (so fans can still say HTTR) and you can keep the current color scheme. And look at some of these images…

It fits well with the Capitals logo (the eagle one) and the Wizards (with the Washington Monument). Just need to design one for the Nationals and you have all four teams.
I think Snyder should just pay this guy for the design. This is better than whatever they will come up with, I can almost guarantee it. Probably end up being the Washington Haynesworths…
