Decades Project: 2010s Movie–Arrival

For years, I have wanted to do a 30-days of sci-fi movies. Maybe in reverse order, but honestly, who has the time for something like that. But this was one of the movies that would definitely have made it to the top ten. I just love everything about this film. This movie made me into a Denis Villeneuve fan (I liked Sicario and Prisoners, but did not realize they had the same director) and it is evident that science fiction is where he truly shines. 

For those of you who have never seen the movie, it is about a linguist who has to translate a message from aliens who show up. It is a non-linear story about the aliens, the love story of the two main characters, and grief. Also, there is an impending world war, possible alien attacks, and an incredible secret. This movie has everything, but at the same time it is very minimalist.
