The Problem With Dust

I apologize to anyone who found this post thinking it would be some information about the dangers of dust. Nope, this is definitely about the MCU and one of the things I sit around thinking about way too often.

What happened to all of the dust after Infinity War

When we get to Endgame it is like five years later and it looks like all of the dust has been cleaned up. Who did it? Where did they put it?

Seriously, there would have been a ton of dust after Thanos finished snapping his finger. You figure there are 7.5 billion people, so if half of them became dust, that is 3.75 billion people.

The average person weighs 136 pounds (global, the USA is a bit higher at 178 lbs). That is 255 million tons of dust. Now, if you remember, it did not appear as if the entire body become dust (where did all of that matter go?). Even 10% would be 25 million tons. Going to need somewhere to put all that dust and you are going to need crews to come out and collect it.

I wonder if there were some shifty companies that popped up selling some kind of dust collection service that could detect your loved ones DNA and separate their dust out in order to give families peace of mind. Picture those shitty commercials hawking this product and service for like $2000. And people would definitely buy it.

Am I the only one who wonders about this?

  1. I assumed the dust was just a visual thing, and that all those people didn’t actually become dust. I thought they just faded away to oblivion.

When I saw the title and MCU, I thought this was going to be about Dust, the X-Men character.

    1. Hmm, I don’t know. I feel like in the end credit scene when Fury walks around, we can see bits of dust on the ground…or am I pulling a Roger Clemens here?

    2. Damn it. I went back and watched it. You may be right. I am an idiot. Fortunately, most people won’t read these comments hahaha
