Decades Project: 1990s Movie–The Fifth Element

I remember seeing the preview for this movie and thinking that it looked really stupid. But then it came out, and I saw it, and absolutely loved it. It is such a fun sci-fi movie. It does not take itself too seriously, but also has a great story. But it is the performances from the actors who drive this movie. Bruce Willis as the former soldier, current taxi driver, who saves the day. Chris Tucker in some of the most ridiculous outfits/hairstyles ever (I read once the wardrobe designer had Tucker try on even crazier things so he would agree to the ones in the movie). Milla Jovovich as Leelo (Leeloo MULTIPASS), the living weapon who must learn humanity. Oh, and Gary Oldman as Zorg. Oldman seemed so over-the-top back then, but the rise of the current crop of billionaires makes me wonder if Gary knew something about the future.

Grab a bowl of cherries, a glass of water, and enjoy this classic!
