The other day Payton was singing a song, but not any actual lyrics. Nor was the tune very good. She then looks at me and says “dad, what song is this?” Uhhh, what? How would I know. She sang it again (and by sing, I mean, she is making up words and has no accompanying music).
And yet, it felt familiar. So I started singing it too. Yeah, I was singing these nonsense words, and then it started to click. It was a song by The Weeknd. It is not like I am some huge fan of his or anything, but “Blinding Lights” has a recognizable tune. I played it for Payton and she was like “yeah, that’s the song, I listen to it on Kidz Bop!” Sometimes I blow my own mind with my awesomeness.
