2020 Fantasy Baseball Playoffs: Semifinal Round

What a crazy semifinal round! Adam2 dominated Ryan all week and he did it with an exclamation point. 25 HRs, 60 RBIs, a .345 AVG, and a .415 OBP. Ryan tried to save himself by streaming pitchers, but it was not enough. He did pick up nine wins and 113 strikeouts, but Adam2 still owned him in ERA & WHIP.

I think Sean led most of the week, but then James made valiant comeback. Offensively, they were both pretty….well to steal James’ joke “offensive.” Neither team cracked a .300 OBP. Yeah, you read that right. A sub-300 on-base percentage for an entire week. Do you know how bad your team has to be for that to happen? They hit a combined 12 HRs. Adam2 had Luke Voit, who hit the same number of HRs last week as the entire team fielded by James. Pathetic. And yes, I am bitter that my team played well and would have beat either of these fools (probably Ryan too), but I had to have my worst week against Sean last week. Seriously, not bitter at all.

Anyways, the matchup ended in a tie and it came down to the tiebreaker. The setting is for head-to-head record, then the next tier is higher seed. So it looks like James is moving on to the finals. Congrats to him. I hope Adam2 destroys him for his second title. Honestly though, looking at their teams, if Adam2’s team plays even half as well as they did last week, it will be very hard for James to win.

Down in the losers bracket…oh seriously, does anyone care? I will give a quick recap. I destroyed Matt 11-1. Gideon smacked Jason around 9-2. It will be me versus Gideon for fifth place. Ryan & Sean for third. And I guess Jason and Matt battle for seventh.
