Payton’s Planet

Payton wrote about the planets, and she decided that if she was going to live anywhere else, it would be Uranus. First, she is six and has no clue how funny saying Uranus is. I cannot wait until she is older to show her this. Secondly, it is not a bad choice. I mean, Uranus is cold (and obviously inhospitable, but we can pretend none of that matters for a six-year-old), but it is beautiful. And it is unique. It rotates sideways (it’s north and south poles are basically where the equator is on other planets). So yeah, Payton picked a planet that definitely suits her.

This reminded me of something I wrote in first grade. It was about wolves. The reason I mention this is that it blows my mind how kids are further along nowadays than we were at the same age. I remember towards the end of kindergarten starting to read. First grade was when we did more reading. It is fun to see how Payton progresses.
