2024 Fantasy Baseball: Week 20

Started off scary, Offord had a decent lead against me, but then I passed him going into the weekend. I managed to hold on for a close victory. My relief pitching has been sketchy the past two weeks (only 2 saves, 0 holds???? That is bad!), but they pulled their weight by picking up two wins. The problem with relying on pitching to carry your team, when they hit a rough patch, things can turn ugly.

Difference Maker
Catchers. I hate catchers in fantasy baseball. If it were doable, I would separate catchers from hitters and pitchers. I would treat them like kickers in football. They get their own stats, maybe you count their hitting stats, but they are like bonus stats or something. So many catchers are just meh hitters, that they just bring the rest of the team down. And if you have one of those legit hitting catchers, you can still draft them and put them in your utility spot.
With all that being said, JT Realmuto was a difference maker this week. He hit .412 with a .444 on-base percentage. He knocked in nine runs, scored three times, and crushed two dingers. I guess I will take those kinds of catcher numbers.
This week I face James. He is having a phenomenal year, and if I can manage to not lose by too much, and Jason does not win by too much, I should make the playoffs. That was a very complicated way of saying that I have a 3.5 game lead on Jason for the final playoff spot.
