2018 Fantasy Baseball Week 9

Victory! I won the coveted Battle of the Blogs. Or maybe it should be Battle of the Bloggers? Whatever, I beat Sean, that is all that matters. My team was pretty good, especially with the rate states. Anytime you can go up against Sean and win four of the six pitching categories is a great week.

KOW–Michael Wacha–KOW

Wacha picked up two wins, eleven strikeouts, while having a 0.61 ERA/WHIP. Funny thing is, he had a no-hitter through eight innings against the Pirates. I was in a weird position. I came home from work and it was the end of the 8th. I already had a great outing from him, but for some reason, I kind of wanted to see him get the no-hitter. I was disappointed when Colin Moran got that hit. I suppose that makes me a shitty fan. I just hate seeing guys lose a no-no in the 9th inning.

Around the League

Lindsey 6 Matt 3
James 8 Offord 4
Ryan 8 Dustin 4
Jason 6 Adam2 5
Gideon 8 Pat 4

Lindsey & Gideon continue to win. I am pretty sure Ryan picked up his first win of the season, is that right?

Best Move of the Week

Lindsey picked up Chad Green this week and he gave her a hold. That hold tied the category for her. Granted that would not have been enough to change things for Matt, but it was a pretty slow week for everyone. Granted, James should get some points for streaming pitchers, which helped him beat Offord. However, I think Offord was vacationing and not doing much with his lineup last week.

The New Week

Oh damn! This is the biggest week of the year. It is the matchup everyone will be talking about…Croyle Showdown 2018!!! That is right, me vs. Lindsey. I jumped all the way up to #5, whereas my dear wife is still in second. The other big matchup is Matt & Ryan: two men enter…one ends up in last place, hahahaha. Jason is in third place and he takes on Offord, who has dropped to 8th. Adam2, sitting in fourth place, takes on James at #10. My win over Sean knocked him into sixth place and he has a tough one with Pat, who is right behind him. Finally, we have Gideon and Dustin. I think you can all figure out who is where in the standings.

This week…the Superman theme. Yep, from Superman Returns, which Parker Posey had a supporting role.
