Top Five: Emotional Scenes & Movies

Some movies really hit me. I have mentioned this before, especially about television shows. These are the five movies that get me more than most. But first, a few honorable mentions.

My Girl
I think everyone cries during this movie. It has been like twenty years since I saw it last so maybe it would not have the same affect on me as it did when I was really young.

Coco
Payton has watched this a few times and I can definitely say that it makes me cry at the end each time. I feel like a few more Pixar movies should be on this list. The Toy Story movies did not hit me nearly as hard as they probably should have because I knew what happened and was ready.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Infinity War, and Endgame
Yondu’s death and then the funeral with the Ravagers is pretty emotional considering the movie. Also should mention the death of Gamora (the look on Thanos face when he realizes what he must do) and Tony Stark’s sacrifice.

5. Finding Neverland
I know I have told this story before, but it is worth telling again. My brother and I went to see this movie in the theater. We were the only guys there (that were not forced to go with a girlfriend) and when it ended, we were both holding back tears. We went to the bathroom, and we both let it out. We looked like someone murdered our dog.

4. Shawshank Redemption
I do not cry during this one so much as get chills. The entire ending is such a dramatic buildup. You can feel Red’s anxiety about whether or not Andy killed himself. Then as they reveal what happened, it just gives me goosebumps thinking about it. Seeing Andy finally win and then to be reunited with Red at the end. Yep, it gets me every time.

3. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
The you bow to no one line gets me every time. I saw the movie with Jason and I am pretty sure he fell asleep halfway through. When Aragorn says that to the hobbits, the tears start flowing.

2. Good Will Hunting
Robin Williams and Matt Damon absolutely crush this scene. I have probably seen this movie at least fifty times and I cry during this part still.

1. Remember the Titans
You want to see me bawl like a baby? Just mention “only kin’s allowed in here.” Damn it, I am starting to cry just thinking about it.

What movies get to you?
