Nona the Ninth

I don’t know about this series. This book was even more confusing at times than the last book. If I were to recommend this series, I would probably say to read it instead of listening to the audiobook. The hard-to-follow parts may be easier in print (I think I mentioned that about the second book), plus you could go back and reread sections again.

My favorite part of the book was the dreams Nona would have about God (John Gaius) telling her about how he discovered necromancy, and how he became a god. I hope we get more of this history, like how did John decide to organize the nine houses and have his lyctors become saints?

I also liked Nona herself. She was funny. I enjoyed how she was completely naive about the world, since she was only a few months old.

I will read the next book when it comes out. I am invested in this series and I want to see how it ends, even if I barely understand what is happening.
