2019 Fantasy Baseball Week 8

Winning is always nice. Jason’s team had a decent week, but it was not enough to defeat me. It is weird to win the counting stats one week, then the rate stats the next. Would love to just dominate in both of them.

Fantasy Player of the Week
I need to recognize one of the pitchers from my team this week. Brad Peacock was not drafted in our league (or most leagues) and is still available in my other league. I picked him up on May 13th. What did he do for me last week with two starts? A win, seventeen strikeouts, 0.00 ERA, and a 0.64 WHIP. How important were those starts? Without him, I tie in wins, lose Ks & WHIP. I would have still won, but it would have been very close.

Around the League
Dustin 8 Matt 3
Adam2 6 Lindsey 4
Ryan 8 Gideon 4
James 9 Sean 3
Pat 10 Offord 1

I feel bad for Adam2. He has Felipe Vazquez, who is one of the best closers in baseball, but he plays for the Pirates, who could only win one game last week and that was a blowout where they did not need him. He could have used a save.

Best Move
There were a few good moves this week, but the one I liked the most was from Ryan. He picked up Cavan Biggio (son of HOFer Craig), who hit his first home run. That HR broke the tie in that category against Gideon.

The New Week
This week I take on the red hot Pat, who is 19-3 over the last two weeks. He has jumped up fifth place and is looking to climb even higher. I am in second place and trail James by seven games. He takes on Ryan this week, which should be a decent matchup. Ryan is in fourth place and needs a win to stay ahead of Pat and perhaps surpass Lindsey, who faces Matt (she should have a rebound week against him). Sean should also have an easy victory since he plays Offord. Dustin & Jason square off against each other in a battle between 7th & 10th. Gideon has suffered four straight losses and now finds himself in 9th place. He takes on Adam2. Again, I feel bad for Adam2. He beat Lindsey last week and instead of jumping into third place, he dropped to sixth. Ryan and Pat had big enough wins to surpass him. That just sucks.
