Darth Bane: Rule of Two

While I was at the beach, I finished reading the second book in the Darth Bane trilogy: Rule of Two. I really enjoyed it. The book continues right after the first one left off, with Bane training Zannah after the thought-bomb. It jumps forward ten years, and we see that Zannah is a powerful apprentice who uses Sith sorcery.

The book mainly focuses on Bane trying to make a Holocron, Zannah stirring up trouble with Separatists against the Republic, and a few Jedi. Bane has some parasites on him that give him more power, but also feed his rage. Eventually everything comes to a head and the Sith are discovered. Spoilers from here on out…

I loved the battle between Hetton and his assassins against Bane. I love how Zannah learned his lessons and figured if they killed Bane, then he was not worthy to continue teaching her. Then the battle between the Jedi and Bane & Zannah was pretty incredible. Would love to see that on screen. The Jedi do not believe the Sith survived since Zannah uses her sorcery powers to conceal who the real Sith Lord is…it was a fairly obvious trick since she talks about using that ability earlier in the book.

I look forward to the next book to see how Zannah kills her master OR if she fails and he eliminates her, and then has to train someone else. I suppose I could just read the history of the Sith on Wookieepedia, but where is the fun in that?
