2023 Fantasy Baseball: Week 13

I am annoyed by this loss, probably since it looks so much worse than it was. My pitching underperformed, but the hitting was somewhat close. I guess this loss was an early birthday present to Ryan!

Fantasy Stud
Ryan owes a good chunk of his victory to Luis Robert. He scored eight times, hit three home runs, stole four bases, and knocked in four. He hit .345 with a .441 OBP. It is funny, in 2020 I drafted Robert way early in the draft and Ryan messaged me saying I stole his pick. I did not keep him, and Ryan drafted him the next year and kept him one year. He did not keep him this off-season, but he managed to draft him in the fourth round, one pick ahead of me. If he was available, I would have snagged him.

This got me thinking about mistakes in drafting/keeping. Back in 2012 (before this was a keeper league), I took Mike Trout in a late round, but he started slow, so I dropped him. And then he turned into Mike Trout. Ugh. After that, I would always try to use a late pick on one of those high prospects. A few years ago it was Lewis Brinson…that did not pan out. I guess my point here is that sometimes you need to patient with these guys.

The Season
I stayed in fifth place, which is shocking. Time to adjust those tiers…
Tier 1: Offord
Tier 2: Ryan, Sean
Tier 3: Jason
Tier 4: Josh, Dustin, Lasher, Gideon, Jordan, James
Tier 5: Lindsey
Tier 6: Pat

Even though I lost, happy birthday to Ryan!
