A Very Serious Question Today

You ever see videos like this? This is hockey on a slip ‘n slide. Or the slip ‘n slide + flipcup. Paintball + ATV/Side-by-side/Jeeps. Or whatever crazy outdoor fun people combine. Tennis in hot air balloons! Bowling, but with human balls & pins (wait, that sounds a little weird). There are tons of these videos out there and they all look fun, but I always think: who has the time (or money) to do all of this shit?

That looks like a pretty huge tarp. A 50 x 100 tarp is $200 on Amazon. Plus you have to buy sticks and other equipment. You get your friends to pitch in, but who wants to do that for something that probably gets used once. This is probably really cool if you are in a fraternity or something like that, where you can get 20 people to pitch in a few bucks and buy all this stuff (once you have the giant tarp, you could probably play all sorts of fun games). But this shit is not happening for adults in the real world.

I barely have time to cut the grass every week and keep up with all the other outdoor things that need done. Not to mention that at this point, I have no extra cash. In the hierarchy of spending it goes: Payton, House, Lindsey, Samson, Cars, Payton, and then me. That is right, Payton comes before me twice. You think Lindsey is going to be like “you want to spend $200 on a tarp so you can start playing hockey on it?” Her response would be: “shut up and go cut the grass!”

For those of you about to freak out at me and say “hey, me and my friends do this stuff!” Good for you! I am happy for ya. This post is more of a grumpy old man screaming “get off my lawn, unless you are here to cut it!”
