It was announced the other day that there is a huge new Star Wars project. It is called The High Republic which is set 200 years before the events of the movies. Before you ask, this is not a movie or a new TV show. Instead, it is a massive publishing project. Multiple comic book companies and a variety of books will tell the stories of this time period.
I have not read a Star Wars book since Vector Prime and that was well over twenty years ago. I might check some of these books out. They sound interesting. The story is that this period is the golden age of the Republic and the Jedi are at the height of their power.
I doubt I will dive into the comics, but maybe I will read the books. I love the idea of the Jedi out in the Outer Rim being these peacekeepers in a wild west atmosphere. Plus it will be cool to read about Master Yoda at the young age of 700.
My guess is that if this does well, then Disney will look at expanding this with movies or shows. I hope so, I am looking forward to a new chapter in the Star Wars universe.
