Game of Thrones: Theory Time Part II

Instead of a silly theory, today will be some predictions about individual moments.

Saddest Death
I think this one will be Ser Davos. I think he sacrifices himself to save Jon at some point. As he dies he will give Jon some speech about how he will be a great king and that he reminds Davos of his own sons. As we have all come to love the Onion Knight, his death will be unexpected.

Most Satisfying Death
Cersei. She does not survive this season. She will plan to double-cross Daenerys and Jon. Perhaps she will order Jaime to keep their forces back and at the right moment attack from the rear. She will be completely mad and with a sad look, Jaime will be forced to stab her. At that moment she will realize what the old woman meant when she said the “little brother” would kill her. It was never Tyrion, it was her younger twin.

Best Battle
The battle between Viserion/Night King and Daenerys/Drogon & Jon/Rhaegal (funny how the dragon remaining for Jon to ride is named after his father). I hope that HBO forked out the money to make it look great. Quick side note, I am annoyed that Tyrion has not had the leatherworkers make a saddle for the dragon–we know that the old dragonriders had saddles that they could strap themselves onto the dragon, so they did not fall off when spinning through the air. I hope that Jon and the Night King come to the ground and finish their battle with swords.

Biggest Revelation
That Daenerys is the Prince That Was Promised/Azor Ahai. I wonder if it will be after that aerial battle. The fight will continue on the ground. Maybe Drogon is wounded and dying and she decides to put him out of his misery by plunging a sword into his heart. The sword becomes pure fire and she sees the Night King about to kill Jon Snow, she uses her new sword to kill the undead leader.

Worst Revelation
I am not sure how they will shoehorn this into the show, but at some point Gilly will realize that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married and that Jon Snow is not a bastard, that he is the true son of Rhaegar Targaryen and the rightful ruler of Westeros (well, succession was never a strong point in Targaryen history). I can already imagine how it will go, Jon will be ranting about being a bastard and Sam will be saying something. Gilly will keep going “But Sam…” and she will be ignored. Then she will shout it out so everyone hears her. Daenerys will be the one to say “let this girl speak.” This is something we already know, but now the characters need to know it, I guess.

Mountain vs. Hound
The Clegane Bowl will finally happen. I hope that Cersei’s undead bodyguard is taken by the Night King. As Sandor Clegane battles his unstoppable brother, we will see a fairly incredible fight. Unfortunately, the Hound is no match for a monster that cannot die. But, the Night King’s magic controlling FrankenMountain will cause a slight problem: a vulnerability to Valyrian Steel. As the Hound lays dying on the ground, someone will step up to put down his brother: Arya Stark. She will stab the Mountain in the eye with her Valyrian dagger. Then before Sandor dies, she will say that she forgives him for killing the butcher boy.

The Return of Hot Pie
I think the show writers follow some of the internet stuff, specifically the love the fans have for Hot Pie. I think he shows up at some point and presents Arya with a finely detailed dire wolf bread. He is a true master now. Perhaps he becomes the Royal Baker. It will be silly, but fun.

Love is in the Air
I think there will be marriages. Maybe not onscreen, but I think some of them will be implied however the show ends.
Gendry + Arya–obviously, she has a thing for him. I think when the war is over, Gendry is recognized for his valor and given the name Baratheon. Arya and he move to Storm’s End.
Sansa + Tyrion–they are already married! How cool is that? I think the time they spend together advising Jon & Daenerys will bring them closer. She will stop seeing him as a monster (she now knows what a true monster looks like).
Jon + Daenerys–yeah, duh.
Jaime + Bronn–no, they do not get married or anything. But, I think they decide to go on adventures together. There is nothing left for either of them in Westeros.
Tormund & Brienne–I think they die fighting off a massive hoard of White Walkers. They save the day, but as they are overwhelmed, she acknowledges Tormund’s skill and bravery (and maybe even that he is cute). They then go out in a blaze of glory.
