2023 Golf Picks–US Open

I did not do so well for the PGA Championship. I ended up at +71 and was in 6th place. My cousin Isaac was first at +21. I am in fourth place overall. I need a big week. Here are my picks for the US Open.

Tier 1: Xander Schauffele–I was tempted to take Scottie Scheffler, but I decided to go with Xander. He is from California and has probably played LACC a few times. I would have taken Max Homa in Tier 2, but his major play has been suspect.

Tier 2: Matt Fitzpatrick–Last year’s champion. He missed the cut at the last major, and despite that, I think he will have a good tournament. I am guessing a top ten finish.

Tier 3: Rickie Fowler–He has been playing well, and I think he will sneak into the top ten. It would be cooler if he actually won the whole thing.

Tier 4: Sahith Theegala–I want him to do well. Every time I think he is about to take the next step and jump into that upper echelon of golfers, he has a terrible tournament.

Tier 5: Harris English–I looked up how English has done at the US Open, and if I remember correctly, he played poorly last year, but the year before did rather well. At Torrey Pines and Winged Foot he finished in the top five.

Tier 6: Sam Bennett–Yeah, I am taking a big chance on the kid.
