The second part of Audibles adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s comic The Sandman. This one focused on Dream receiving the keys to Hell (which, if you are a fan of the show Lucifer, is how that comic book came about, yeah everything is tied together), the story of the Cuckoo and Princess Barbara, and a bunch of the solo stories (“Ramadan” being one of my all-time favorites, as well as the story of of Emperor Norton–one of the things I love about the series is how Gaiman can weave historical events around the fantastical and sometimes give them an explanation).
The voice actors brought in for this project continue to blow me away. We already have James McAvoy as Dream and Kat Dennings as Death. But Emperor Norton is John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright as Destiny, Brian Cox as Augustus, David Tennant as Loki, Bill Nighy as Odin, and Michael Sheen as Lucifer. If you are a fan of the comic, you need to listen to this (I figure this will be the perfect preamble to the Netflix show coming out at some point).
