Best of 2021: Favorite Blog Post

I feel like I have written a ton of posts this year, but in reality I am right around my normal output. I think the days of 300+ posts are long gone. It would be impossible for me to narrow it down to one single post that was my favorite. Instead, I will mention a post each month that was my favorite.

January: The Kansas City Pittsburgh Connection–I wrote this as a joke response to one of Sean’s posts. It ended up being pretty funny.
February: Top Ten: TV Deaths–I did a few top ten lists this year, but this one was my favorite (and probably the saddest).
March: Payton & Me and The Quest to See a Movie–This post reminds me of why I do this blog. I read it and it helps me remember that day.
April: Bathroom #1–It is funny how many people thought this post meant I did the bathroom myself.
May: This Is Us Finale–I came up with the exact same Best Man Speech as Kevin, I thought it was amazing!
June: The Trip to Florida–A long post about our trip to Disney and then to my brother’s wedding.
July: Pennsylvanians in the Summer Olympics–I was proud of this post. It was a ton of work, but fun.
August: Charlie & the Z-Fly–I wrote about Dad and his flyfishing skills with a particular fly.
September: I Am Alive and Well (Mostly)–The most sick I have been in almost forever, plus a bunch of other cool stuff.
October: The Facebook Experiment–I gave up social media for thirty days, these were my reasons.
November: Touch of Grey–A random post with a mystery that would have been solved by some Deadheads.
December: The Comments…–I always love these quick rants about something stupid.

The most popular post from a stat perspective was A Puke Story. That says much about the weirdos who read my blog. I also had a few posts that I felt were quite underrated: A Refugee Solution, The Weekend, and House Project: I AM TOTALLY FLOORED! I recommend reading them. They are good posts.

This year I did a weekly quiz game. Know Your Presidents. It was a fun series. I look forward to doing something like this again next year. Maybe not as structured, no spreadsheets involved. Anyways, I enjoyed writing them and there were three that really stood out: Martin Van Buren, George Bush, Barack Obama, and James Madison. But there was one that was by far my favorite–William Henry Harrison.

And finally, there were my college football rankings. I decided to start writing them and they ended up being something I looked forward to every week. My favorite was Week Eight

And finally finally…I finally ranked my Top 50 Favorite TV Shows. It was cool and led to a few debates.
