Pandemic Ramblings

It has been awhile since I have written anything. I figured I better give a little update on life. First of all, we are all safe and healthy over here. Lindsey is not working, but I am still working. In fact, I am working six days per week and since we adjusted our hours, my shifts are middle of the day instead of early in the morning or later in the evening.

I will not lie, it is nice not having to wake up at 4:45 a.m. or getting home at 11:30 p.m. However, I am gone for the majority of the day and I barely see the kids. Logan usually takes a nap before I leave and is in bed when I get home. Payton…well she is still awake when I come home and has been extremely hyper when I walk through the door.

Since Lindsey and the kids are staying home, my only day off was spent going to Walmart and Giant Eagle. People are so insanely stupid. First of all, Walmart was packed. They should probably limit the number of people that go inside. Also, if you plan to wear gloves, you should understand that touching your face with them and then touching every product on the shelves does zero good. Seriously, gloves only work if you use them properly. And finally, going out for groceries every single day is not how you get out staying home. Also, standing in an aisle and talking in groups is not helping.

People need to stop following/sharing the stupid fake health hacks. Holding your breath for ten seconds is not a self-test for the coronavirus. Eating garlic does not prevent the coronavirus (seriously, Walmart was completely sold out of fresh garlic…two giant bins were empty). Believe me, if any of these ideas worked, doctors would be promoting them. Not that idiot you went to high school with who failed chemistry and biology.

It is crazy that people still think this is some kind of hoax. I continue to see people posting things on Facebook about the coronavirus being a plot to bring down Trump. 3000+ people have died in the United States, almost 40,000 people in the world. Italy hates Trump so much that they sacrificed 11,000+ people? That makes no freakin’ sense. Stop being dumb.

Changing gears here for a second. It turns out the basement was not as bad as we initially thought. Lindsey’s dad came over and took the carpet out and removed the carpet pad. We dried the carpet outside and we are going to put it back down once I get a new pad. Yay! Thanks Greg!!! I think I will use the planks I bought for a few other things in the house.

A few good movie suggestions for those of you out there with plenty of time on your hand. I watched The Report on Amazon the other night. And then I watched Vice. Pretty cool seeing those two movies together. If you want to be terrified about November and the election, check out the documentary Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America’s Elections. I also recommend watching Devs on Hulu, not a movie, but so far a cool show.

I think that is enough for today. Hope everyone is staying safe and sane during this pandemic.

Payton passed out in our bed…pretty much how I feel every day after work
