This year has been cool for watching movies with the kids. Payton is at the age where she understands the movies and asks questions about them. We watched a decent amount of movies this year. A few stand out though as being central to our kids lives.
First up we have Aladdin. Yeah, the Will Smith version. Payton loves watching it and it is mainly for the “Speechless” song that Jasmine sings. Payton sings it all the time and her Halloween costume was the purple dress that Jasmine wears during the song (it was about as close as we could get).
She and Logan both really liked Luca. They watched it a bunch. We also watched the Paw Patrol Movie and probably a few other random movies, like Dr.Seuss’ The Grinch and of course the normal Disney movies (Frozen, Lion King, Brave, Toy Story).
But, the movie they loved the most was definitely Raya and the Last Dragon. You may remember our little adventure of trying to see it in the theater. Payton loves the movie, she likes to pretend she is Raya, but she also really likes Namaari. I think it is the cool hair. Logan loves Tuk Tuk (fun fact, Tuk Tuk is the name of a type of three-wheeled taxi in Bangkok…see the connection?) and I think he digs the battles. They both laugh at Bour and Sisu. And Payton definitely asks lots of questions at the end of the movie.
I am not going to lie, this movie almost ended up being my favorite movie of the year…
