This year there were nine 5-star shows for me. The Pitt, The Bear, Daredevil: Born Again, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Andor, Peacemaker, Task, and The Chair Company. I would say that Peacemaker has zero right to be as good as it was. I mean, the character was a joke in the Suicide Squad, and now? There were episodes this season that brought me to tears. John Cena is a good actor. Andor was probably the most powerful show for me. Task is probably the most complete show. It is one of those shows that I recommend to people knowing that it is just so good, and not very unlikable. The Chair Company is the show I tell people about, and just hope they watch it, but know that the humor might not be for everyone. The White Lotus and The Bear were great yet again, each having some fantastic moments (come on, the Sam Rockwell monologue should win awards, as should Walton Goggins reaction). Daredevil: Born Again and The Last of Us continue to prove that you can adapt a comic book or video game, and actually make it great.

But my favorite show this year was The Pitt. Honestly, I started watching it because “hospital show set in Pittsburgh.” I was a fan of ER back in the day, I liked Noah Wyle on that show. But, I was not ready for what this show was going to bring to the table. A medical drama that is very accurate (I love watching Dr. Mike do a weekly recap, and every episode is just him saying what they will say a second before), but also just packs in the emotion over the course of 15-episodes. It was so good that I watched almost every episode twice (Lindsey started it late, so I rewatched episodes with her, then she would fall asleep, and we would have to watch again, haha).
