I honestly cannot remember if there were any new songs that even came out this year. Obviously there were, but I do not listen to the radio or have a way to hear new music all that often. In the car, I mostly listen to books or podcasts. If the family is with me, then we listen to kids music or some of our Pandora stations. So I guess this category from now on will just have to be something different now.
This year has been all about one song in our house: “I’m Still Standing.” Yep, the Elton John classic. Payton loves it. Well okay, she loves it because of the 2016 movie Sing. She plays the Taron Egerton version all the time by saying “Alexa, play I’m Still Standing” and somehow Amazon knows she wants the Egerton version from the movie. So smart.
There were a few other songs that were played probably a bit too much, such as “Into the Unknown” and the Will Smith songs from Aladdin. But it was definitely cool to have my kids jamming out to an Elton John classic (Lindsey even posted a video of them dancing to it awhile back). Anyways, if you have not seen the movie, I definitely recommend it.
