Snow Tubing Part 2

Last year we went to Seven Springs for snow tubing. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it again this year. It was a little warm today. Like mid-50s. It felt like 60 in the sun. It was a different experience than last year when we were bundled up and prepared for the cold. Today we were debating what to wear because we might be too warm.

Another weird thing about this year was that there are new owners at Seven Springs. They changed some of the rules for tubing. For example, last year we could go down in a big group with all of us lashed together. This year though, they would only allow us to go down in singles or pairs. They also do not allow you to go down on the tube on your stomach. They did have all new tubes, which I think were slightly smaller, and there was a sponsorship by Bubly.

With the warm weather, they only had one hill open, and the conveyor belt seemed to be straining bad. They were limiting the distance between people to help keep weight off. The guy said it broke down earlier, and I heard someone else on a radio say they did not think the belt was going to last. Fortunately that did not happen, I cannot imagine walking up the hill multiple times.

Next year we should be able to take the boys, which means Lindsey and Kayla will probably have to go as well. Payton & Em did go down the hill on their own, so it would be possible for Adam and I to take all four, but it could be very difficult, especially if the boys end up being scared and not wanting to do it. Payton did say something that intrigued me. She told Lindsey that she wants to try skiing. I guess she was watching the skiers going down the mountain, and thought it would be fun. She said that she wants to do tubing for another year or two, then maybe try to ski.

Which brings me to a problem. If she wanted to go skiing, we would have to just get her lessons since Lindsey and I have no clue how to ski. And that also brings me to another issue. We would not be able to enjoy it with her unless we learned how to ski as well. Is that even possible at 40+? I mean, how much money are we looking at to learn to ski? I guess you can rent the equipment, right? Is this something I should consider?
