How Did We Do–Baseball Predictions 2025

Ryan, Offord, and I collaborated on some baseball predictions this past year. Did you folks know the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays in the World Series? I remember the Dodgers winning, but I totally forgot it was against the Blue Jays. Crazy. Did we predict that World Series? Absolutely not. The three of us super-geniuses picked Toronto to finish dead last in the American League East. I have a feeling it did not get much better from there…
Okay, so as far as place finishes, Ryan–6/30, Offord–5/30, and me–9/30. We all predicted the Dodgers to win the NL West, and Offord managed to get the Phillies winning the East, so that gives him two division winners. I nailed the Pirates finishing in last…not sure what those guys were thinking.
Offord and I both had the Dodgers winning the World Series, whereas Ryan thought Philadelphia would win it all. Under the awards, Offord and I both picked Ohtani to win NL MVP, whereas Ryan and I had Paul Skenes winning Cy Young. None of us picked the ROY. And finally, I was closest to the Pirates record, they finished 71-91, and I said 73-89 (Ryan had them at 84 wins, what kind of optimism drugs was that guy taking?).
The 2026 season is fast-approaching, and that means another round of predictions coming. Maybe we can do better this time.
